The Ohio State University AR Experience

THE OHIO STATE “TIME AND CHANGE” WEB AR CAMPAIGN:

In 2025, following Ohio State University's College Football Championship run, Tactic was invited by the University to create an interactive augmented reality (AR) experience for their alumni magazine, as part of the University’s “Time and Change” campaign, highlighting the various new buildings and facilities around the school. This "bonus" feature was launched through a fold-out map included in the magazine, giving readers access to a 3D web-based campus tour.

The experience showcases six interactive 3D environments, each highlighting new initiatives and campus expansions across Ohio State’s locations. Visitors can explore each area and hear about the latest developments through embedded audio and visual elements. Each area features several sites, which includes a slideshow of the programs within, as well as a voice over guiding the user through the highlighted section.

Additional features include holographic messages from Molly Rose Calhoun, President of the Alumni Association, and a special appearance by Brutus, the University’s mascot. Tactic also produced a standalone version of the AR experience, accessible without the magazine, optimized for sharing via social media and other digital platforms.
