Look Ahead San Francisco VR App

Tactic created the Look Ahead - San Francisco VR app in partnership with the City of San Francisco and for Climate Access, an environmental advocacy group. The app, which offers a first-person look at future sea-level rise in three locations in San Francisco – the Embarcadero, Mission Creek and Heron’s Head Park – illustrates how these sites could benefit from climate solutions, by immersing the user in these areas, demonstrating the long term effects of sea level rise, as well as potential mitigation strategies, using VR as a tool to inform and illustrate these concepts.  The app also applies an interactive UI layer to the 360 degree view, which allows the users of the app to answer questions and get involved in environmental advocacy by giving feedback and getting in contact with these organizations.   Available for download onto smartphones and tablets the Look Ahead app downloads provides a 360-degree tour that includes a today's "king tide" flood zones, along with forward looking projections with a more drastic sea level rise in that same area.
